Well I've got good news and bad news... Good, great, wonderful, exciting news is that the Royers goat Lizzie had twins!!!! AHHH!! :) we were waiting and waiting...just hoping and praying that she would have them before transfers... and guess what. prayer works! she had them ;) haha i'll tell you more about that in just a sec... oh and hope you enjoy all the pictures! haha we took like a million! :) So that has been super fun! oh and so then the bad news.... bad news is it was transfer calls on Saturday...and we got a call! But turns out Sister Huefner and I have to stick it out another transfer together... it's gonna be rough... haha Just kidding!!! no bad news!!!! all good news!! We were kinda shocked but super excited that she is staying!! neither of us are getting transferred this time so we have another 6 weeks together!!! This past 6 weeks went by wicked fast just like these next ones will too I'm sure! Why does time keep going faster!?! ahh! it's ridiculous!!! Well I have so much to tell you about this crazy adventure filled last week of the transfer that we had! haha so on Monday...we had district pday!!! I didn't get to email because it was a holiday :P but we had a way fun day!! We went to the Royers to do our laundry and wrote letters for a little bit and then played games with them! Then we went with our district to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse! We took lots of pics...as you can see :) and we even made our shadows spell out NHMM!!! Pretty sweet :) So then after that we went to the store real quick and then pday was over so we went to the Royers to pick up our laundry and then we just helped them organize some boxes and stuff the rest of the night!
Tuesday we went and we had planned to watch a movie with Linda and Arnez since they had been sick the last week and we got there, had an opening prayer, and then Arnez said she was concerned about tithing and didn't think she would be able to pay it so she couldn't get baptized. So our lesson ended up being all about tithing and it was really good :) After that she decided that she could work it all out...I know she will be able to she just has to have faith! And Linda is so solid! She said that when Arnez was talking about that she had to think to herself what she would do if Arnez didn't get baptized and she knew that she still would and she was already making plans and figuring out how she will pay her tithing! They are so awesome! :) Then we went and saw a referral Kerwin that we got from Elder Pritchett who served here at the beginning of his mission! We were able to find were they lived but they were sick so we didn't get to talk to them... but she at least said we could try back another day! So maybe some potential there...! Then we went and did mormon.org... actually this time we called it mormonstalkorg haha we just went and looked up all our friends' mormon.org profiles haha so that was fun :) And then after that...the snow came... so we got grounded :( We just went home and finished up our weekly planning and comp inventory!
Wednesday we went to Augusta for district meeting! Last one with our district! this week it'll be all switched up cuz three people will have been transferred so we'll have a whole new district! should be fun! And we had district lunch this time so we went to a Chinese restaurant and then the best part was we went to a candy shop after! It was the cutest candy shop ever! We had so much fun in there! haha and then we came back and saw Sister Russell...read the Book of Mormon as usual... then we went and saw Sister Gove...cleaned her bathroom...and then once again SNOW!!! :P so everything else coordination, BOM class, and mutual got cancelled :( so we went home and we worked on painting our bathroom! So exciting! haha oh but we also did face masks so that was fun :)
Thursday was a really fun day! We went and saw Linda and Arnez and we read the talk from Elder Bednar from last conference "Windows of Heaven" I think is what it's called...idk...it's the really good one about tithing!!! So we read that together and talked about it and I think they are both feeling better about tithing now! :) I wish they would've been at church yesterday because guess what all the talks were about. tithing. But they both had headaches so they didn't make it :( It's been really awesome though because you can see that it's all really directed by the spirit because every week Arnez asks us if we set it up because the talks in church will be about what we talked about that week and be just what she needs! It's so cool :) Then after that we went to see if we could volunteer at the food pantry in Waldoboro :) Melanie volunteers there and they do it the first and third thursday of every month! So she was telling us that we should volunteer too! So we went and talked to the guy in charge - Lou and he told us that he had lots of volunteers but he didn't like turning anyone away... so he said we should stay for lunch that day but come back next month to work there... So we ate some lunch with Melanie and then we said are you sure there's nothing we can help you with today? and he said well.... why don't you come with me...so we went and started bagging up food for people to pick up and we did a pretty good job and he was quite impressed with us by the end that he said... you know what... take back what I said earlier! come back next time! and you can come every time! :) haha :) so now we have regular service at the food bank twice a month and it is so fun! The people there are so nice! We were getting some really good vibes from all the other volunteers and I'm sure we'll meet lots of neat people there... so that will be so awesome and a good place to find new investigators!!! :D
Friday we did weekly planning and then we went and did some crafts with Melanie! She taught us how to make dream catchers which was cool! Then we went to the Seversons and only the husband was home... so we said sorry we can't come in if your wife isn't here! and he said well my daughter is going to be here soon with dinner so you better wait! So we waited out in our car and then his daughter and his future son in law came and we went and ate dinner with them and had a good discussion with them about all kinds of things! I think the son in law is pretty interested...curious at least! and he has all the pamphlets and his own Book of Mormon now! :) They live out of our area but we will see what happens... :) And then after that we went to the Royers to stop by and guess what! They had bunnies in their bathroom!! haha so we took some pics with the bunnies! they are actually the seigars' bunnies but the Royers were doing a petting zoo so they had them :)
Saturday was a super awesome day! We had a lesson with Linda and Arnez and we watched Legacy with them! Then we went home and had lunch...changed to our service clothes and then went over to the Royers because we had gotten a call that morning telling us that Lizzie had babies!!!!!! :D So we went over and the Royers weren't home yet but they told us it was feeding time! So we went in and you should have seen us! It was quite the sight I'm sure! We had to bring Lizzie the mama into the house to the bathroom where the goat babies were but we had to get past five labs, two horses, one donkey, a pig, some sheep, and another goat! haha! I had to carry the boy baby goat outside to lure Lizzie into the house and then Noel the donkey was eating my boot and all the other animals were coming up to me sniffing the baby goat! haha and Sister Huefner was trying to grab Lizzie... bahahaha! It was really funny! then we finally got her into the bathroom and I had to help the babies learn how to nurse while sister huefner tried to control the rest of the animals! haha it was quite the adventure! haha so fun :) and then we had fun taking pictures with them wearing our name tags :) the best was when the Royers got home and we each had a "goat in our coat" :D haha it was awesome :) and then we just played with them until it was time to go home and do our nightly planning and wait for a transfer call...! We were both feeling really calm all day and we thought it was because we thought we knew what was happening so we weren't expecting any surprises... so we went home, prayed and then President Stoker called :O and he said that Sister Huefner was not being transferred!!! which meant that she would not be the sister training leader anymore so she got released from that because they are centralizing all the stl's (sister and they will be in companionships now! So we were pretty suprised!! we knew that was an option but we didn't think it would happen!!!!!! But we were both so excited!!! I am so happy!!!!!!! It's going to be so fun!!!!!!!!!! :)
Sunday we went to church and everyone was happy to hear that we were both staying!!! it was sad cuz none of our investigators were there but we had fun being in charge of singing time in primary!! haha sister huefner led the music and I played the piano :) and then after church we went and saw Sister Gove, then dropped by at the Goldrups and then went and saw our goat babies :) and that was it! and now can you believe it it's pday again!! :) wow! that was a lot! haha oh I have this poem that is so true! I just wanted to share it with you... :) Pretty sure this is how every missionary feels...well it's at least definitely how I feel :) It's called Highs-n-Lows
A mission is a strange experience.
It's a trial and a test.
A mission throws at you the worst.
Yet teaches you the best.
They told me this would be the best period of my life.
But I guess they didn't explain it all too clear.
I came out looking for a bed of roses.
I just wasn't expecting all the thorns I've found here.
Since I've been out here I've never been so happy.
I've never been so depressed.
I've never felt so forsaken.
I've never felt so blessed.
I've never been so confused.
My mind has never been so clear.
I've never felt my Heavenly Father so distant.
I've never felt him so near.
I've never been so discouraged.
I've never been so full of hope.
I feel like I can go forever.
I think I've come to the end of the rope.
I've never had it so easy.
I've never had it so tough.
Things have never gone so smootly.
Things hvae never been so rough.
I've never traveled through more valleys.
I've never ascended so many peaks.
I've never met so many new people.
I've met so many freaks!
I've never had so many ups.
I've never had so many downs.
I've never worn so many smiles.
I've never worn so many frowns.
I've never been so lonely.
I've never had so many friends.
Man, I hope this is all over with soon.
Gosh, I hope it never ends.
Yup!!! Well! I just love being a missionary! It's the greatest ever!! and I love all of you!!! Have a super great week!! :D
Love,
Sister Tait
