So this is pretty weird to think about... one year ago...guess what we were doing?! oh that's right! just waiting for that big white envelope to come in the mail! a whole year ago! can you believe it! seems like just yesterday!!! Weird!!!!!!!!
Well we had another good week! Monday we did our regular pday stuff....cleaned, emails, shopping, letters... oh and just be prepared we are becoming amazing future mormon moms and just cooking and baking all kinds of great things :) haha Sister Brooks has a Mormon cookbook and last pday we made frog eye salad! haha it was quite exciting! We even shared it with some of the members and they loved it! Then we went to the Duffy's for dinner and family home evening!
Tuesday we had a lesson with Linda and Arnez! When we were doing our companion study that morning we were looking at what we had planned to teach and we just didn't feel right about it! But we just couldn't figure out what to teach that day.. we thought maybe prayer but we just weren't sure! So we decided to move on to our scripture memorizing and then we would come back to lesson plans after that! So, I pulled out my card and the scripture was 2 Nephi 32:8-9... all about prayer!!! :D well! there's our answer...we said and then planned a lesson for them about prayer :) I'm loving this scripture memorization program that we're doing! We've been doing really good at staying up to date with it and everything a scripture a day! We're really good at saying them together...just not quite sure if i could do them by myself...that'll be the real test haha but anyway it's pretty awesome :) So our lesson on prayer was really good! We talked about the how, why, when, and what to pray for! and then it just led in perfectly to us figuring out what to teach them next! Personal Revelation! So after that lesson we went and saw Melanie! We did the stop smoking program with her and she was really excited to do it! Then after that we had lunch and then went and saw the Osiers! They are investigators but we were thinking about maybe dropping them...I hadn't even met them and then we stopped by and we were going to just drop off the family proclamation and when she answered the door she said she was really busy but she wanted us to come back! She said she was loving what she was reading (3 Nephi 11) and she really wanted us to come back and talk about it! So we're going to hopefully catch her at a better time and teach her more :) Then after that we mostly just tried to see some formers and referrals and then went home and had a late dinner and that was it!
Wednesday we had district meeting in Damariscotta this week so the Augusta/Gardiner missionaries came here! After that we went and saw Sister Russell and read the Book of Mormon with her :) Then we went to the hospital to visit Sister Gove :( we just visited with her for a little while and sang hymns to her so she loved that :) and then we went to the church for Book of Mormon class! We had five people there! A couple of members, a recent convert, and a less active! So that was really good! then we went home and had dinner...we made some delicious french toast :)
Thursday we went and saw Linda, Arnez and Tom! and we taught the lesson about personal revelation! It was pretty good! I love how sometimes it just feels that I get more out of these lessons than they do! I know that they are learning lots but it's so awesome how I can learn something new every time too! :) After that we went and saw Melanie... she was having a hard time but still going strong with no smoking! So she had to make some comfort food - homemade macaroni and cheese and shared with us :) then we talked with her and helped her make cookies :) then we went and did mormon.org and then we tried a few potentials formers in the area and then that was pretty much it!
On Friday we just did our weekly planning and then I packed up! We went to the Seversons and had dinner with them.... some kind of seafood soup.... it was.... delicious... haha, uhh not my favorite... haha! After listening to more of Mister Brother Severson's great stories we went to the gas station...grabbed some snacks and filled up the gas tank and then we drove to Auburn! It was like an hour and a half-ish drive and then we met the Oxford sisters for an exchange! I went to Oxford with Sister Smedley and Sister Bergeson went back with Sister Huefner! and Oxford is really out in the middle of nowhere!! haha it was a cute little place though! then it was another hour and a half drive before we actually got to their apartment! So we got there, planned and went to bed!
We had a really good day on exchanges! We tried to see some potentials and formers! Then we went to the Youngs and had lunch and then helped them stack wood! then we had some blackberry pie! then we went and were supposed to have a church tour but no one ended up coming... so we had to eat all the cookies ourselves! ;) it was kinda last minute so they're hoping they can plan one and get some more people to come! but we did get to learn more about family history from the member that came for the tour so that was fun! then we drove to auburn and exchanged back!
Sunday was a pretty normal day! We got fed spiritually and physically :) we had church and testimony meeting was so good :) then we had a coordination meeting with the elders! Then we stopped by the Goldrups house and they were getting ready for the superbowl... so we helped them make food...then helped them eat food :) haha and while some of them watched the superbowl we helped katie get caught up with her online seminary :) So it was a great night!
Then today!! oh manny! it's the start of the craziest week ever!!! So we packed up this morning and are doing our emails and getting our laundry done at the laundromat across the street! then after this we are going to finish up a few other errands and then we'll head to Augusta! and I'll stay there with Sister Lassen and Sister Wray and sister Huefner is going with all the other Sister training leaders and zone leaders down to Manchester for a meeting tomorrow! And then she'll be back to Augusta tomorrow night! but we're just gonna squeeze in an exchange right then so i'll go back to Waldoboro with Sister Lassen and then on Thursday we'll go back to Augusta for zone conference and switch back!! haha... that's how to keep a healthy companionship! just don't see your companion all week :P haha so it's gonna be pretty crazy!!! then we'll have a few days to actually see each other and work in our own area! and then Monday we'll go on another exchange with the Oxford sisters!!! haha! so that's what we'll be up to all week!! :) Just a bunch of craziness!! :) Well I hope you all have a crazy awesome week!!! So sad that the groundhog saw his shadow... :( looks like six more weeks of winter... well...spring is coming...slowly but surely!!!! LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! :)
Love,
Sister Tait
