The BIG Day!
Wow! Sister Tait called us this morning at 6:15 a.m. What a wonderful thing to hear her voice! She was so excited and so ready to get going. They hadn't even gone to bed! Up at 6:00 Sunday morning and still going strong at 6:15 Monday morning! They did all their regular church, study, temple walk on Sunday and then packed up and had to have their luggage out to the vans by 3:30 a.m.!!! Oh my! She said the Elders in their district had given them a blessing and then they had gone back, packed and decided it wasn't worth it to go to sleep for just a couple of hours. Hopefully they can sleep a little on the plane. We talked for about 15 minutes and then she was off to board the plane and hoping to call at her layover in Detroit. So we waited a few hours and at 11:15 she called for her final goodbye! Both times the kids tried to ask if she missed them and she didn't want to hear anything about that. She wanted to talk about missionary work and anything to do with that :) She said there was a lady that was taking pictures of the huge group of them getting off the plane (I think there were about 26 missionaries) and she also said they had met a man who is the stake president in Detroit and he wanted to buy all 26 of them lunch but they didn't have enough time for lunch just enough time to grab something quick and make a phone call if they wanted. It was another of those "greatest days ever" one of those so special moments for a mom (and dad). What a blessing to have the gospel in our lives and what a blessing that Chelsey wants to share it with the people of New Hampshire. I miss her so and love her so much but there is nothing I would rather she be doing. This is such a special opportunity watching her blossom and grow and become even more amazing before our eyes. She just sounded so good - so grown up, so confident and so ready to share the gospel. I couldn't get over the confidence in her voice and the enthusiasm she had and it has only been 12 days. She is so ready! Oh how we love you! Travel safe!!!
Love,
Mom
