Another crazy week in Portsmouth!!! :) Last week after emails we pretty much just spent the rest of the day shopping! Well...we didn't even buy anything but we went to like every single store imaginable and looked around! then we got dinner and then we went to Mary's house for FHE! :) It was her and her cute daughter Mandy and we had root beer floats and had an awesome lesson on prayer! :) So fun!! Tuesday we went and did service at footprints! We stocked the shelves with canned vegetables and soup and stuff and bagged loaves of bread! and then we came home had lunch and our studies! Then we went to the Hafens and talked to brother hafen about our schedule for the crazy weekend with the missionary media blitz! He was helping us to get members to come out with us and making sure that we had things to do every hour of every day! He's awesome! Then we went to Brenda's who is an investigator in Dover that the elders were teaching and so now we are! Sister Casper came with us and that was really good! Then we came home and the sister training leaders had to come pick something up from us and then we all went to dinner together! Then we went to the relief society enrichment night and sister reeve taught us all how to make the perfect crust for pies and we all made hand pies! they were delicious! so that was fun :)
Wednesday we went to footprints again and we did service there until 2! Then we came home and had a super quick lunch and then Marsha and Helmar were there to pick us up and take us to bingo! :) That was super fun as always! and then we had coordination with brother hafen at the church! then brother hafen came with us and we went to the Kings some less actives in the ward and we had a really good lesson with them! We talked about CPR (church, prayer, read scriptures) and how CPR saves your life and how these things help you so much in your life and we talked a lot about 2 Nephi 32:3 feasting on the words of Christ and it was really cool relating it to Thanksgiving when we feast but when we feast you usually eat a whole lot and then don't want any for a while after that... it's kinda like the kings! they got baptized last year and were doing so great and then they stopped coming in the past few months :/ so we talked about that and how we have to continually be feasting on the words of Christ! we have to feed our bodies physically! and spiritually! :) it went really well and they have been reading the scriptures together and had some really good questions! We are trying to help them to work towards the temple so hopefully we can get them back to church!! :)
Thursday was super awesome! We had zone interviews! Oh and it was my freaking year mark!!! what the heck?!?! haha that is just so crazy.... Everyone came to our chapel and we just do like rotations where we're in zone meeting and the sister training leaders and zone leaders teach us and then we meet with sister stoker and then have personal study and then have our interview with President Stoker! It was really great! We now have a new and improved way to teach that they taught us... and it's gonna take some time to learn... haha we're using the pamphlets a lot and it's just supposed to be really simple and basic! We practiced a lot and they said it's gonna take 20 hours of diligent practice to get it down! haha so we've got a lot to do! But it was some people from church headquarters that came to mlt and taught mission leadership and now they're teaching us and right now in our mission there's one baptism from every 21.2 investigators... and with this new way of teaching that we're doing we're gonna make it one baptism from every 5 investigators!!! there's been lots of cool miracles already so it's really cool!!!! But it's hard because it's totally different from what we've been taught all this time! But it's good cuz it's supposed to be just simple and brief - we are teaching the restoration in 7 minutes!!!!!! it's pretty crazy!!! and you know me....I like to give every single detail....hahaha...but nope! we don't have to tell them everything! We're supposed to cut the fluff! so this should be interesting :) haha! but yeah I guess this is how they're teaching them in the mtc now! crazy stuff but I'm gonna trust them! :) After interviews we went to a soup kitchen that Sister Grace volunteers at and we met her and helped her for a bit! that was super fun! then we went to the Regans and had dinner with them! They are awesome! and then they went with us to teach the new member lessons the Keenes! The 12 year old boy and 9 year old girl were just baptized last year! So we tried out our new way of teaching simple, brief, 7 min restoration lesson with the pamphlets and it went really well! We all bore testimony about the restoration and about the book of Mormon and it was really good! :) Then the Regans wanted to take us around to see the beach and stuff on our way back and they took us to Mount Agamenticus and that was pretty cool! :) They're gonna take us again when it's not so foggy because they said it's so cool you can see the ocean and everything but it was just too foggy!
Friday was the start of our crazy weekend! the missionary media blitz!! :) It was a crazy busy weekend and we had lots of good appointments and lots of members that came with us and posted stuff on their social media! It was pretty cool that we got permission to go on our facebook too! It was way weird though... haha! Anyways we started off doing our weekly planning and then we went to the church with sister keele and had a lesson with Robert! That went really well! we just read the book of Mormon and invited him to come to church and guess what! He actually did!!! :) Then we went with Sister Hall and saw Janee a potential investigator that we met at the library a few weeks ago! We talked to her for a bit and she told us how she used to have a roommate that was Mormon but she passed away in January :/ but we had a good conversation with her! Doesn't look like it will go anywhere right now though cuz she has a lot going on and isn't really that interested right now... after that we went to the Reeves! They took us to the beach and we had lobster bisque... and then we went to a different beach and got lobster rolls! haha it was sister fuller's first time having lobster!!!!!!! ....and....she was not a fan.... bahahahahahaha! I thought that this lobster roll was better than the last one cuz the meat was shredded so it was a little easier to chew!! still not my favorite thing...haha but it's a fun experience! haha and mostly it was okay cuz the next stop was Lago's! so I got to wash it down with Maine wild blueberry ice cream!!! :) yum!!! so delicious :) then we went with the reeves to Mary's and taught the first new member lesson to her! That was awesome :)
Saturday we went with two of the young women Kennon and Camille and saw a less active Sister McCarthy! That was so much fun and they are getting super excited to serve missions some day! :) Then crazy things started happening and appointments were falling through and members were canceling :/ but we worked it all out! so we just stopped by Brother momna a less active that we hadn't met yet and he came out and sat on his porch and just talked and talked to us! Then we went to Larry's another less active! Have I told you about his routine? haha it's so funny! maybe I already told you but we go over and he says okay what's on the agenda today...and he starts off telling us about the weather and then says okay next is a personal story...this time he gave us two options and we had to pick which one we wanted to hear that day! haha and then he asks religious questions and then we get to share a message and then we take turns of who gets to say the prayer each week! It's a great routine! haha he's pretty hilarious! Then we went and had dinner with sister seamons! then we went with mary and had a lesson with Amadou! oh and on the way there we saw the cute geese family so we had to stop and take pictures! haha :)
Sunday was good! Church was awesome! Robert came and stayed for sacrament meeting! Amadou called us and wanted to come but had to work but said he could get next week off! Then after church we went to the keeles for birthday cake and ice cream for the youngest daughter :) it was Frozen themed of course! haha so cute!! :) and then we went with sister hafen and saw Brenda again! She is british and we can't always understand what she is saying...haha but she loves to talk! Then we went with brother hafen and tried a few less actives but none were home! then we went and had dinner with the Lees! they are an awesome family and they're moving to the Philippines in two weeks! so that is sad! but it was fun cuz they're two little girls were so excited to have sister missionaries and so we talked all about missions and what we do and they were loving it!! :) Then we stopped by some other members the Udy's to get to know them! and that was it!!! and now it's pday again already!! crazy how that happens!! now we're onto week 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what the heck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This transfer is going by wicked fast.... well!!! I hope you all have a great week!! love you so much!! :)
